This has a complex malt bill, balanced hops, a dash of late alcohol and just starting to catch some brett, to round it off. I only had a little bit, and I most certainly want to have more. This is good.

Draught at the brewery
Dark brown color. The aroma is nice, shows some balance, vinous, woody, nutty. The flavor is too earthy, doesn’t have the malt depth of a Barley Wine, some caramel; it has a sour vinous note, very low sweetness, earthy and astringent in the final. Alcohol burn.
Ok beer, I don’t know where they got the Barley Wine style from, though.
I would never pay 20$ for a bottle.

On tap at Powell Street, pours a cloudy deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Nose brings out lots of funky brett upfront, followed by prominent oak and subdued toasted caramel. Flavour is bold, with a wonderful brett character upfront, followed lots of oak, heaps of dry toasted caramel and a warming finish that permeates. The brett really nicely incorporates with the barley wine notes. Excellent stuff.

Draft - Funky Brett, some barrel, anise and toffee. Deep copper with a small beige head. Funk and some barrel notes. Funky, weird and nice.
