500 ml genie-ish bottle. The beer is a reddish amber. Fairly clear, maybe a touch of haze. Fizzy head, very pale pink. The aroma is boysenberries, some lacto, moderate wine barrel and a decent cheesy funk. Solid expression of boysenberry; it has that odd vegetal sweetness that you find in the berry. Fairly light lacto twang. Good hit of that funk. The wine barrel kinda blends into the background, but it’s solid enough once you find it. Taste has moderate to medium tartness. Some nice berry sweetness up front. Good oaky finish. The mix of boysenberry and the funk is kinda odd but it’s growing on me as I get through the glass. Some light bretty fruitiness - peach, pineapple, kiwi. Puckery but not abrasively so. Light feel with some effervescent carbonation. The beer is fairly subtle and the mix of flavors takes a minute to show its depth. Nice effort overall, even if it didn’t quite grab me from the get-go.

Poured from a 500 ml bottle. Aroma is fruit forward with nice boysenberry notes that come across as fresh berries with fruit and skins rather than jammy. Light phenolic notes of seeds and stems. Light citrus and pineapple notes. Hints of oak. Pours a hazy, pinkish purple with a medium small, somewhat thin, slightly pink head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers for a bit. Moderate lacing and no legs. Flavor is somewhat sweet with a balanced acidity that is only slightly sharp. Hints of malt. Light pineapple, lemon and other citrus notes. Moderate berry notes, again more of a fresh berry character than jam. Some light oak notes. Hints of herbal phenolic notes. Light wine notes with a bit of grape character. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a very nice Boysenberry sour. The berry notes are very nice and the acidity is well balanced.

Bottle - Tart red berry notes. Deep orange red with a decent white head. Tart cherry, light acidity and some funk. This gets better as it sits.
