Tap at Cap Tap. Pours very dark brn/blk with a slight tan head. Aroma is chocolate and brandy. Full + body. Flavor is chocolate with something like honey and really, really smooth dark malt. Brandy isn’t heat, just brandy. Digging in can reveal some musty woodiness. This is friggin super delicious.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is fairly sweet and malt forward with lots of chocolate, dark caramel and toffee. Lighter honey and roast notes. Light oak notes with moderate cognac notes. Some raisin, grape, cherry and prune notes. Light alcohol spice. Pours black with dark brown hues on the edges and a medium sized, medium thick, light mocha head that shows nice retention as it slowly recedes to the edges where it lingers. Moderate lacing and medium long legs. Flavor is moderately sweet with a lot of chocolate, dark caramel and toffee. Much like the aroma there is some light roast and honey notes, but also some leather and tobacco. Light oak notes, but quite a bit of cognac character. Some light alcohol spice and moderate bitterness. Quite a bit of fruit with raisin, cherry, prune, and grape being most prevalent. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and slightly silky with medium carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright beer but I think the cognac character comes through a bit too strong. Lots of dark fruit and grape notes kinda overwhelm the rest of the beer in the flavor. The alcohol is well hidden and the malt profile is nice though.

Bottle - Dark Chcolate and molasses with some fudge. Jet brown with a small light brown head. Cocoa and dark notes with a touch of booze with a nice long finish. Nicely done.

The color is almost black, small head. Mild aroma, some roasted malts, almonds, a bit too much booze, hint of chocolate. Moderately sweet, the high alcohol percentage cuts through it; dark malts, some dark chocolate, marzipan, nuts; the cognac seems to give a too high boozy feeling.

750mL bottle, pours black / dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is intense on the cognac, with decent heat, and some lightly sweet caramel. Flavour is intense and complex, with loads of cognac, sweet caramel, some honey and booze. Wonderfully balanced, with lots of cognac and heat, but tastefully so. Complex and deep. Delicious stuff, despite a bit of harshness.

Bottle thanks to Rainer. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head that lasts. The aroma is raisin oatmeal cookie, roast, cognac, wood. Thick body, chewy, roast, cocoa, vanilla, boozy, very sweet, really nice.
