Has a nice amber colour, but the thin head quickly died, which is too bad. Has a caramelly, slightly biscuity aroma. Both nose and aroma hint at a proper long boil. Smooth caramelized amber malts tones, just a touch of fruitiness but mostly clean. Medium-low bitterness. Just a touch of tartness in the finish...a bit odd in an amber bire de garde but not unheard of. Overall, a nice concept, and it seems faithfully executed as well. This is how you do a regular strength malty amber.

Bottle - Earthy and dirty yeast, with almost cola like notes. Clear amber with a rich beige head. Same earthy and malty yeasty notes. Although not a yeast I like, the execution is decent and very clean.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Hazy dark amber color. Sour aroma, sour flavor, a bit fruity, lightly sweet, some grainy malt. Some spices.
This beer is infected.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma is fairly restrained, with rustic farmhouse yeast and a pronounced but light earthiness. Flavour is like a biere de garde, with an aged rustic farmhouse yeast quality, slight earthiness and dry body. Solid but fairly boring.
