Bottle - Fig and dark Berry notes. Purple with lots of floaties. Rich and blueberry dark Berry notes. Rich and Berry like with some tannin and a dry finish. Can’t be pure Apple?

2006 vintage. 200mL bottle, pours a deep dark mahogany. Aroma has some sherry oxidation on the nose, with some burnt caramel and some mustiness. Flavour is quite a bit different, with lots of sherry upfront, a touch of pleasant oxidation, red berries, and caramel. Quite acidic on the finish, with noticeable oxidation. It's really quite lovely, especially given the age (10+ years at this point) Excellent.

Corked bottle, from a wine shop in Bowen Island, BC, vintage 2007, 3 years old
Beautiful bright copper color. Aroma of concentrated apple juice. The mouthfeel is thick, there is a lot of residual sugar, with apple juice and some brown sugar, pineapple juice too; the acidity is extremely high, almost lemony, leading to a partially astringent final. Very good but also aggressive, not as harmonious as the best examples.

200 ml bottle brought back from Canada 1.5 years ago. Cherry-wood colouring, leaves a film in the glass. Leather, cobwebs and wood aroma, still tart but probably not in the amount Todd and Josh experienced it - must have mellowed out. Beautiful apple sweetness, a hint molasses, sap balanced by a mellow sour green apple and light geuze-like notes, frsh - never cloying. Slick mouth-feel, dry tartness on the tongue.

Re-rate in 2016. I almost like this better now, the way that the tart balances out the sugars.

Vibrant amber-brown colour. Uh...sour blast and some brown sugar for fun. Whacked-out sweet & sour taste. Apple tarts and brown sugar. Finishes quite tart...it’s a clean tartness but man that makes no sense to me. Very different take on ice cider. 7-4-8-4-16
