Bottle at home picked up from Oddbins London Bridge. Ahazed orange golden coloured pour with a loose white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts, candied orange, marmalade, a little woody pine notes. Flavour is composed of semi sweet raw grains, caramel, woody citrus, jammy orange, toasted malts. A bit rough round the edges. Palate is grainy, spritzty carbonation and a dry rough finish. Sub par Kernel.

330 ml. bottle @ home. Procured from Caigny. Bottled on 04.02.2015 (BBF 04/06/2015). Not optimal โ€“ esp. not for a hoppy Kernel beer where I find that the yeast starts dominating very quickly โ€“ still a very good date considering that I purchased this in Belgium. Pours a rather hazy orange, creamy solid white head. Nose is rich touch sweetish & very rich dried apricot hops, touch passion fruit & exotic hops, some white bead base, very nice & very fruity. Taste is light bitter grass upfront, white bread & yeast play a bit part here, too much for me, the hop figures as exotic dried fruit, dried apricot, dominant, dried apricot, some passion fruit, light grass-like bitterness, yeast & white bread quality is upfront in an almost milky type of way, there is some light toffee / butterscotch sweetness to this. It seems like the yeast has already started to dominated a bit but this is still a rather pleasant beer. This is solid but would have been better for certain, younger, Kernelโ€™s hoppy beers really need to be enjoyed as young as possible. Often I am astonished by them when I try them at a festival while a bottled variety from a store I largely find just satisfactory.

Cloudy orange golden color with a fine thick white head. Lovely lacing. Just a perfect start. Grapefruit hoppy, pine and tropical fruity aroma. I love it. Medium to full body. Silk smooth texture. Nice balanced sweetness versus bitterness. Grapefruit hoppy, biscuits, pine and tropical fruity in a perfect blend. What a lovely IPA! Spot on.

(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 27 Feb 2015) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with citrus, grapefruit and tropical fruit. Fruity, malty taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, pineapple, a touch of resin, grainy malt and a generous citric/resiny bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Tasty and well made, possibly not quite as solid as most of their IPAโ€™s, but still a nice one.
