Let’s do the Time Warp - AGAIN!
time warp: noun: 1. what you step into when you step off the ferry on Texada Island; 2. a delicious wet-hopped pale ale
We hand-picked 38 kilos of local hops and added them to the brew immediately to produce this delicious pale ale. It’s not an IPA, but it still packs a big hop punch so prepare for your nose hairs to curl up and let out a happy sigh.
Fresh-hopped beers are designed for immediate enjoyment so do not cellar this one!
Look for it in select private liquor stores on the Sunshine Coast, Vancouver and Vancouver Island and, of course, at the brewery store starting October 1.
But hurry - quantities are limited!

Bottle, Legacy. Looks quite dark for a pale ale, like a light brown/amber. The head is thin and bubble. The aroma is earthy, fairly chewy. There’s a lot of malt here, and I wouldn’t surprised if wet hops from Texada - didn’t know there was a hop farm there, cool - are mild. The taste is malt-forward, with chewy, toasty malts, a bit of biscuit, and even some richer caramelized sugars. The hops are woody, apparent in some bitterness, but not overly strong there, and hardly registering at all in the aroma/taste side of things. The finish is mostly sweeter, chewier malts and a bit of woodiness, along with a vague sense of lingering bitterness. A good amber ale, more or less, with more hop than that description might normally imply.

Draft - Light malts and some grains. Clear gold with a decent white head. Caramel malts and some biscuit. Touch of bitterness in the finish. This is a good English Ale, but I don’t get any hops, let alone wet hops.

2015-10-09, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 5-4-5-2-9=22
Hazy amber color. Diacetyl loaded Amber Ale, with no evidence of fresh hopping.
Unprofessional.
2014-10-17, draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver, 6-4-7-3-14=34
Hazy dark amber color. A beer with a lean caramel profile, good hopping level, mild fruity touch from the hops, but also a clear buttery hand. Butterscotch aroma, mild.
Drinkable because I don't mind some diacetyl, but it needs some rectification.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a hazy dark copper with a small beige head. Aroma brings out fresh hops, and doughy malt. Flavour brings out fresh doughy malts, some super fresh hops, and some earthy notes. Very fresh and drinkable, but unsophisticated. Decent stuff.

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark copper color with light head. Aromas of malt and very light pine. Definite malty flavor with some light caramel hints, and bitter finish. Can’t get catch any fresh hops though. More like a red ale in appearance and taste. OK
