Like the waters of Lost Lake, our Unfiltered India Pale Ale is refreshing and with a real bite. This Northwest style IPA is bold and hoppy, with a complex drop too, with fruity notes of grapefruit and passion fruit. For extra body and mouthfeel, Lost Lake IPA is naturally carbonated and unfiltered.

330ml bottle. (5.9% ABV) Pours a hazy gold-amber with a medium, foamy, long lasting, white head that laces nicely. Mild, sweet aroma of caramel malt, grapefruit, passion fruit and piney hops. Sweet flavour of bready caramel malt, grapefruit, orange, pine resin and light passion fruit in a dry, bitter, spicy hop finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Not bad.

Part of their Rambler Pack found at the Embrun Beer Store. Pours a clean amber colour. A big beautiful creamy warm-beige head, great retention and thick creamy-fluffy lacing. Grainy cereal aromas with some notes of caramel malts. Not much hops, but these are found in the taste. Not super heavy, but adding a nice soft dry touch. Still, some nice cereal and toasted malts. All-around, a decent old-school IPA.

On tap at la bocca, Whistler. Clear medium amber with a small short lived off white head. Nose is caramel and light citrus with orange peel dominant. Light sweet malts with a medium - bitterness. Mouth is slightly thin with average carbonation and a light lingering bitter finish. Uninspiring.

Bottle - Light pithy citrus and some caramel. Cloudy gold with a rich white head. Caramel and light hoppy citrus bitterness. Touch of orange.Earlier Rating: 6/20/2013 Total Score: 3Bottle - Resin, pine and a sweet malt backbone. Nice rich head with a clear copper hue. Bitter and resinous at the get go, a bit spicy and some burn in the finish. More like the pith of an orange than anything else with a long bitter finish. Not that great.

330mL bottle, pours a hazy dark bronze with a small white head. Aroma brings out earthy hops and a somewhat stale bready malt. Flavour is very bland and subdued, with an earthy hoppiness and bready malt base. Lifeless hop character and rather stale malt bed. Not good at all.

On tap at Whistler Brewing, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is fairly light on hops for an IPA, with some grapefruit and light tropical fruits. Flavour brings out passionfruit and grapefruit, with light piney hops. Clean and balanced, with a nice bitter finish. Solid IPA.

Bottle from BC Liquor
Amber color, clean. Some aroma of grapefruit, lime, candy, dish product. Caramel flavor, not sticky, yet mildly sweet, with a grainy accent; strong bitterness, not much hop quality, some chicory/pithy bitterness.
Not even trying to be an IPA, just a bitter Amber Ale.

Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Cloudy amber color with copper hue; medium sized head. Aroma of malt, caramel and hops; some toasted nuts and biscuits; mild but nice. Lean body; caramel flavor, more dry than sweet; strong bitterness, unfortunately with a harsh final, chicory-like.
A bit hard, not bad though.

Amber, with a thin head. Light, caramelly, not much hop on the nose. Or the palate for that matter...this is 70 IBU? It’s an ok amber but a real let down when I was expecting hop.
Earlier Rating: 4/19/2014 Total Score: 3
Hazy amber-brown-mud sort of colour. Reasonably thick head. A bit of pine, marmalade but the hops are mostly unintelligible , muddled by the yeast and probably by their age as well. Bitterness seems nowhere near the 75 on the label. Malts are also a little unclear. Ok, but doesn’t really make a statement of any sort.

Poured from the tap. Orangey brown with off white head. Caramel malt and mild hops with a citrusy sweetness. As an IPA it could be a little hoppier, as a beer overall it’s quite enjoyable.
