A true Bavarian Pilsner with exceptional continental hop flavour that can only be achieved by selection of fine noble hops including the Saaz variety. The use of Munich and Pilsner malts and time honoured brewing methods produces a clean, crisp Bavarian Pilsner that is truly transcendent. FBC’s multi-award-winning flagship brew.

A little noble hops. Crisp enough as a pilsner. Easy drinking. Rich golden pour with big fluffy initial head. Crisp finish. Can.

Poured into a Hard Rock Café Vancouver pint glass it has very good foam and decent medium gold body, middling carbonation again, big bubbles. I like those funky weedy pilsner hops and they're in spades here. Flavour is smooth grain, caramelly almost, sugary. Mouthfeel is too cloying, missing that snap of a crisp pilsner. Still not bad, good to crush a few in a backyard barbeque.

Golden with a white head. Slightly sweet with citrus and light malt. Refreshing and pretty tasty.

355ml can. Pours a clear pale yellow with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that laces. Mild aroma of grass, grain and bread. Sweet flavour of grainy malt and grassy hops with a dry, clean, crisp, mildly bitter finish. Light body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Pretty good as far as pilsners go. I was pleasantly surprised.

On tap in Golden at Golden Taps. clear golden color. Nice grassy hoppy nose with some 2row malt underneath. Nice clean malt backbone. Excellent. Dry bitter finish. Very nice and one of the best Canadian Pilsners I’ve ever had.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of straw, cereal and grass. Flavour is fresh and clean, with notes of grass, straw and a little cereal. Very refreshing stuff, just not overly flavourful. Certainly better than the average rating suggest in my opinion.

Light gold. Malt is bit thick, gloppy and the hops are maybe not as fresh as I’d like. Mild bitterness. Ok.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
14oz
Hazy blond color with small compact head. Light grassy touch. Dry and light mouthfeel; the malt profile has some cereals accent; the hopping has a little grassy touch, ordinary bitterness level.
Too simple, just midway between a real Pilsner and a mainstream Lager.
