Anchor Steam Beer - brewed for the first time in 1896 - owes its deep amber color, thick, creamy head, and rich, distinctive flavor to a historic brewing process like none other. It is a process that combines deep respect for craft brewing tradition with many decades of evolution to arrive at a unique approach: a blend of pale and caramel malts, fermentation with lager yeast at warmer ale temperatures in shallow open-air fermenters, and gentle carbonation in our cellars through an all-natural process called kräusening.

Fluffy off white head stayed on a translucent copper coloured still body. Spices, tea, malt & sugar aroma. Medium bodied, sharp on the palate with thinner cloying back. Bitter tangy tastes with pine, resin, malt, tea & spices.

Tap (Pinta, Wrocław). Fruity, very light even a little bit watery, dry with small bitterness but long and astringent a bit. Generaly nice for hot day but nothing special for taste.

Another ultra memorable beer from the dark ages, pre craft beer explosion, this one was damn near in every store. Wonder if it was this malty and flat back then too. Oh how we've grown!

Certainly a unique flavor. Don't think it'll become a new favorite style of mine.

Pours dark amber with a thin white head. Aroma similar to that of an amber or Vienna. Taste is malty-toasted but without the smoke influence. Dry mouthfeel. Palate includes muted hop notes as well as a rich malt tone.
