Tap at the beer bistro. Dark amber pour, small white rocky head. Buscuity malts, bready, grainy, like sticking your face into a big bag of grain. Light, subtle, but very much there aroma of Piney UK hops. Soft carbonation, medium mouthfeel, and light bitterness.

Aroma of malt, some caramel, light hop. Flavour is light malty, light sweetness, with a fairly bitter finish. Body is light and watery. Very mild and too watery, but it went down well.

Bottle at home from the Fuller's advent calendar. A clear amber orange coloured pour with a small off white head. Aroma is subdued, brown sugars, brown bread, light grass, singed toffee. Flavour is composed of pretty thin, brown drive, light toffee, light grass, chalk, watery. mineral finish. Palate is watery, thin, fine moderate carbonation, chalky finish. Meh. very boring.

Day 6 of the Fullers advent calendar. Tiring day so this was a welcome start to the weekend. Subdued pour and light chestnut in the glass. Taste is very light malt and bitter hops making this a very old-school bitter. Yes, you can drink loads but you would get bored quickly.

Bottle. Deep golden color. Pear in the slightly floral aroma. Medium bodied. Malty sweetish cookie flavor with floral notes. Fairly low on carbon. Tasty for 3.5% ABV

Bottle at home. Had a number of times from 2008 onwards. It pours clear golden with a decent white head. The aroma is quite soft, rather mellow, toasty grain and dull sweetness. The taste is rather mellow, dryish, soft, bit of toasty grain, bready malts, toasted nut, light sweetness and dried leaves with a short finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Too light and doesn't quite have the depth of flavour of the cask version. Certainly drinkable, but not much going on.

500 ml bottle. Bright bronze color, good foam and excellent aroma: best island hops, honey and wild flowers, fruity, little notes of malt and caramel biscuit, a little earthy shades. Taste: smooth and clean, pleasant hop bitterness, malts, biscuit, fruity esters, amazing drinkability, great ale.

* Old rating, best before 19 Dec 10. Schönes, sehr süffiges und leicht getreidiges Ale. Nicht zu tief mit feinherber Note im Nachgeschmack.
