Although no oysters make it into the ale, this sweet stout is the perfect companion to the tasty sea treat and other salty snacks. A smooth body highlighted with chocolate and dark roasted malts is easy to enjoy on the blusteriest winter days, or the sunniest summer afternoons.

650ml bomber. Black pour, with a medium, creamy beige head. Decent roasty nose with some hints of wet paper an some light grassy hops. Silky body, light creamy carb. Finish is slightly roasty, with some subtle cocoa sweetness, and very very little bitterness.

473 ml can. Pours black with full tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, soy sauce, and salty dark chocolate. Flavors of watery roasted malts and maybe some brine. Not really much there from a flavors perspective...

Poured from 473mL can (stamped 04/08/2022). Very dark brown with tan head. Light fudgey chocolate, mild brine, light lactose. Fine, but pretty unmemorable.

650mL bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out lots of brine, with a touch of toasted malt. Flavour is quite briney, with lots of sugars, light toasted malt and dry cocoa. Very briney, dry and chocolatey on the finish. Not very convincing for the style.

Sweet dandy octopus label. (and cap). Medium brown. Aroma seems sweet, like fudge, milk chocolate sort of character. On the palate, really sweet. Too much so. Just some fudgey chocolate stuff. Like cloying and one-dimensional. Maybe it pairs with stuff, but I don’t like it otherwise.

650ml bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with a small, long lasting, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, dark chocolate, licorice and molasses with a dry, bitter coffee finish. Medium body with a creamy, smooth, oily texture and soft carbonation. Nice. A good start for a new brewery.

Modest head, okay dark cherry body. Soft and sweet barley aroma, hints of fruit. Flavour is cherry chocolate with a dry crisp finish. Adequate and some good flavour but no finesse to take it to the next level.
