Rich clear amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Soft tangy dark malts, trace of milk chocolate. Sweetish dark malt cream and pleasant mellow dark fruits. Sweetsih finish. Chocolately linger. Pretty RIS this barleywine!

(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of dried fruit, caramel, raisins, prunes, figs, brown sugar, rum, dark bread and a touch of black-currant. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, dried fruit, prunes, figs, raisins, vinous and slightly burnt hints of Madeira wine, dark bread, black-currant and a warming finish with a generous resiny bitterness. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite a complex brew, with leanings both towards barley wine and Belgian quadruples, still with a generous hop bitterness. Excellent beer.

330ml bottle, many thanks to Skinnyviking. Pours an unclear brown-reddish body. Filmy beige layer leaving fair lacing behind. Smell of bread and sweet dried fruits. Sweet taste of biscuit, brown malts, and prunes. Dark fruity finish. Robust, a tad too sweet in the long run (hotel room, Copenhagen 30.04.2015).

Flaska från SB. 2012 vintage. Stor bra klassisk BW möter Klosterabt. Stora söta dofter och smaker av torkad frukt, russin, fikon, dadlar, karamell, honung, rom, madeira. marsipan, sötlakrits, anis. Lite lätt pepprig, lite kärva valnötter och lätt beska håller tillsammans med alkholvärmen ihop smakerna bra. Riktigt gott.

Bottle 330ml.Clear medium amber colour with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, caramelized, alcohol, phenol notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, sweet malt, dried berry - fruit, licorice hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat to soft, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. [20130216]

Cloudy dark chestnut color with generous head, quite compact. The aroma is lightly fruity, with evident nuts (caramelized pecans), but also some stale water; light esters and fusels. Full bodied; the mouthfeel is round but interrupted by a precise alcohol perception; good flavor of caramel, roasted nuts, quite strong bitterness; the final is powerfully bitter and essentially dominated by the roasted nuts.
Rather balanced overall. A different Barley Wine, more roasty than the classic English ones, well bitter but without the hop aggressiveness of the American ones.
