Light gold in colour, bursting with citrus and tropical hop flavours and sensationally refreshing. The original UK Citra. In 2009 on his annual hop sourcing visit to the USA, Oakham's Brewing Director John Bryan discovered an exceptional new hop variety - Citra. He rushed it to the UK, ensuring that Oakham Ales were the first UK brewery to brew a beer with 100% Citra hops and maintaining Oakham's reputation for pioneering innovation. ABV: 4.2% in cask, 4.6% in bottle.

Bottle, many thanks dantomlinson! Slightly unclear golden color with off-white head. Aroma is citrus hops, grassy, some toffee malts. Taste is bready, citrus hops, nice British Ale flavour, a bit herbal, bitter finish. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation, and a bit of a mineraly bite. Tasty British Ale with a nice citric twist without becoming too modern - I like!

Bottle from my parents for Christmas. Watered down lemon juice and malts aroma. Light gold. Frothy translucent white head soon thins. The medium bitterness is tempered somewhat the citra sourness. Some spice but also a lot of oldschool UK IPA quinine. Thin. Light. Average carbonation. Long dry very astringent finish. It's OK. I guess I can see why this caused a fuss back in the day but a raw IPA compared to what more modern brewries are producing over here.

Rocky off white head stayed on a translucent pale lemon coloured still body. Lemonade, sweet citrus & hoppy aroma. Medium bodied, soft over the tongue with a tingle on the back. Tangy hops, bitter citrus, lemon, saccharin & pith with a slightly soapy finish.

Bottle from Tbone, 4.6% ABV. Pale blonde. Lychee and lemon in the aroma. Hoppy flavor with lychee, lemon and some grassy notes. Lingering lychee and earthy hops aftertaste. A fine ale with a good hop character.

Oakham citra Cask at qualcosa arms Bright yellow color almost clear short creamy white head persistent with lots.of lacing. Nonetheless citra hops is the king here, full of fresh citrus zest backed by pale malts. Taste is quite intense breadth juicy with lots of aromati c citrusy hops. Bitter but not excessive ly. 26-02-19 // taster at Brauhaus Neulich in Berlin at a bottle share with the team and brewer of the brewpub. Citra? This is so much herbal notes in aroma and taste. Light bodied. Maybe minimal citra. Lacks body. Maybe it wasnt fresh anymore, maybe it was too sessionable in between some darker stronger stuff at the tasting.
