On tap. Pours black with light head. Aromas of oak, bourbon, cola, and roasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional nougat, graham wafer, and nuts. Though predominantly bourbon; a little too much and a little off balance.

On tap at the brewery in Bellingham - USA. Black pour, little tan foam a bit adhesive and with lacing. Nose: sugar cake, vanilla shake, milk cream, more vanilla. Mouth: a bit dusty, rough, confusing. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft - Vinous barrel notes with some cherry. Jet black with a light brown head. Tons of raw oak, some roast and a touch of sourness.

On tap at April Brews Day, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out heavy bourbon barrels, some smoke and maybe a touch of the cherries. Flavour is very complex, with loads of complex bourbon barrels dominating, followed by a little char. Very bourbon-heavy and smoky. Excellently done barrel aging.

750 mL waxed bottle poured. 2015 enjoyed too early. Beautiful blue wax, that nearly sold me on this alone. Gotta love a beer that the head is almost as dark as the beer. Near black pour. Intriguing whiskey swayed aroma. High carb, bold whiskey flavor, with a background of chocolate. A bit of a smokey hint as well. Overall a solid beer, and thanks to the beer/bottle, I learned a new word.
