Well-rounded, sophisticated, classic: Our Black & Tan is an old friend and staunch traditionalist.
Featuring a skilfully blended combination of Wolf Brewing Company’s Golden Honey Ale and Dark Malt Porter, the Black & Tan is the best of both worlds; the resulting blend is an easy-to-drink, medium-bodied, balanced ale offering a wonderfully complex flavour profile from seven different malt varieties.

Brown colour. It does have some of the classic black and tan character - nice roastiness, moderate bitterness, and some slightly fruity, livelier pale ale notes. For me, this is an effective example.

On tap. Pours a dark brown with moderate head. Aromas of sweet roasted malts and a bit of coffee. Flavors of same with coffee notes more prominent plus a muddled fruitiness. Creamy and malty. Pretty much the way a Black and Tan should be IMHO. Easy to drink

Smells of mellow malt with some brown sugar. Has an okay brown body with modest white foam. Flavour is weak barley. Mouthfeel is thin. Positively mediocre.

On tap at Wolf, pours a deep dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is very restrained, with light bready malts, not much else. Flavour is pretty weak, with toasted malt and a light residual honey sweetness. Pointless blend of two shitty beers - what do you think is the result?

Bottle - Light roast and toast. Clear dark copper with q decent beige head. Bitter, toasty, some astringent notes and a long finish.
