Pesky Pig Pale Ale is named after Francis the Pig who stole the hearts of carnivores and vegetarians alike in the summer of 1990. This 220 pound porker evaded his fate by jumping a wall, navigating the slaughterhouse and escaping into Red Deer's parkland. Our Pesky Pig Pale Ale is meant to really let the hops sing. The malt presence is quiet but supportive of the rambunctious hop flavours of grapefruit, papaya, and other tropical fruits. The usual hop bitterness has been reigned in while the flavours and aroma have been allowed to run amok, making for a delicious, intense, yet ultimately quaffable beer.

Sample at St Albert farmer's market. Clear medium gold with a small white head. Nose is light caramel, citrus and some floral notes. Flavour is a light sweet caramel under a moderate citrus bitterness. Mouth is medium slick with average carbonation and a lingering lightly bitter finish. 7+/3/7/3/14

355ml can shared with blackhaddock in his man cave. Many thanks to Duffman for this. Pours golden amber, large off-white head. Aroma is hoppy, citric, grapefruit. Taste is lovely crisp, bitter grapefruit with a resinous tinge. Solid APA.

355ml can, shared with minutemat on 5th Aug 2016. Nice beer, nice story on the can about it’s name. Clear golden pour, white head. Hoppy, fruity nose with a slight citrus leaning. The taste had a good malty base with the fruity hops just about balancing out any sweetness. A decent APA in my eyes.

Golden amber color. Marmalade, apricots and some bread you nots. Fairly hoppy nose but underlying sweet maltiness that leads to heavy, slightly sweet mouth with good bitterness. A bit unbalanced and too estry. Enjoyable but not special.

355ml can. Pours a clear golden orange with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that laces. Floral hop aroma of grapefruit, tropical fruit, grass and biscuit. Sweet flavour of grapefruit, grass, biscuit and light pine with a dry, bitter, hop resin finish. Light to medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Nicely done.

Can - Nice leafy hop aroma, touch of wet grass and nice pale malts peeking through. Clear gold with a frothy white head. Nice up front bitterness, touch of tea leaves and some leafy hops and a dry finish. Solid.
