Juniper berries and northwest hops give Kataja Gin-like notes with a twist of citrus. A complex malt bill of rye, oat and barley malts is followed by a crisp bitterness, not from hops, but from the juniper berries themselves.

Poured from the tap. Near clear light amber brown with small white head. Rye malt forward with hint of juniper. A bit timid and boring.

On tap. Pours a dark amber/light. Nothing to write home about. Malts and maybe some juniper. Meh.

Brownish copper clear body and okay foam. Dry malt aroma, maybe specialty grain in there. Flavour is plenty of dry grain, cracker, biscuit, light coffee. Bone dry finish. Could be a bit fuller, but otherwise okay malty beverage.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a cloudy dark orangey amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out an interest rate mix of gin and citrus upfront. Flavour is on the maltier side, with notes of earthy rye notes, followed by gin / juniper berries, and a little citrus. A bit muddy for me but it works alright. Nice attempt.

Light brown, thin head. Smells a bit dirty, maybe some toast. The taste is mostly rye, not much else. Not picking up much juniper, bit thin, and totally nothing like sahti...think of it as a rye beer for best results.

Growler, tasting at Josh’s
Hazy brown. The aroma is earthy, a bit dusty, and bready. Some rye bread flavor, it has some residual sweetness,, correct bitterness, no juniper. Balanced. An ok beer.

Growler - Rye and grains. Dark copper with a decent beige head. Lots of rye and other grains with a touch of spice. Not getting the juniper.
