Draft. Golden beer with a cream head. Light coffee aroma. Coffee and grapefruit flavor. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Coffee and grapefruit linger with light pine.

Topa Topa Howler Coffee Double IPA 8.3% Apparently, this was a Halloween beer. Orange gold with a rocky head and fruity coffee aroma. Medium to full bodied with loads of coffee and berry notes. Pretty nice, other than the descriptive blurb on the can nothing about this says Halloween.

Usually a fan of coffee IPAs, but something's off with this one. Starts out fine, with a nice mix of pine, grapefruit, peach, and coffee, with a cascara acidity perking up in the middle as roast and a mild bitterness kicks in. Goes awry in the finish, though, gaining a vegetal, yeasty tartness with traces of day-old java. Not sure what hops were used, but they throw everything off by the end. Darn.

On tap at GABF 16'. Pours a cloudy orange gold with frothy white head. The aroma is roast coffee and pine. Light body, roast cocoa, pine, light dry finish, good.

Draft - Nice roast coffee and grapefruit, well balanced. Clear gold with a decent white head. Nice coffee notes with grapefruit and a rich caramel backbone to tie it all together. Superb balance and likely one of the better ones I have had.
