Our 714 Blonde Ale is crisp and clean with an unmistakable Orange Country crushability. 2-Row barley and a dash of Honey Malt build a beautiful golden base with a soft sweetness perfectly tempered by a subtle, citrusy hop profile derived from a combination of Cascade, Simcoe, and Willamette.

Golden ale by Bottle Logic, a brewery more famously associated with elaborate (and often notably sweet, yet refined) strong stouts and barleywines, still quite coveted also here in Europe; thanks to tderoeck for sharing. Medium thick, snow white, opening head on a clear and pure yellow golden robe. Aroma of sweet vanilla-flavoured cookies, baked banana, orange flesh, honey, rambutan, fresh white bread, breakfast cereals. Clean onset, some dried banana and vague lychee notes, delicately sweet without sugariness, softishly carbonated with smooth, slick body; slender but pure pale malt sweetishness is perfumed with this sweet vanilla-like scent, again like fresh vanilla cookies, along with mild chamomile-like floral hops which provide only very soft bitterness. Uninhibitedly simple and straightforward, this is one I would never have associated with this brewery, but there is no denying that within its unassuming style, which is more about purity, elegance and efficiency than it is about complexity or innovation, this actually performs very well. Imagine drinking this for a whole evening - I cannot think of anything that could be wrong with that. It is 'just' a golden ale, but it is a damn good one - and in certain ways a very American one - in this category.

MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: soft acidity, malty, grains, hay, a little soapy, oxidized, sweet touch. Aftertaste: banana, banana peel, meh, not very good.

On a flight at the Rock-In Bar (inside Whole Food, Laguna Niguel) on 26th June 2024. Clear and clean blonde, white crown. Soft body feel, semi-sweet with a slight citrus leaning, decent start to the flight.

On tap at Bottle Logic, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp biscuity malt and straw. Flavour is clean, with biscuity malt, light cereal grains, and straw. Nothing special here but it's clean and decently brewed.

Got in a trade with RaulMondesi. 16 ounce can into pint glass, no can dating. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with light lemon, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with pale malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, white bread dough, and lightly toasted biscuit; with light lemon, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Minimal herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Very nice robustness of pale malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with solid malt/bitterness balance; and zero cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Lightly increasing dryness from bitterness/carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a delicious American blonde ale! All around nice robustness of pale malt and light earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the minimally bitter finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Very clean pale malt showcase; with mild earthy hop balance, and restrained fruity yeast character. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. Was initially expected a hoppy blonde, but this is very classic tasting all around.
