Tap @ BBF 2011. Booklet says 7%. Caramel, malt and cinnamon in the aroma. Caramelly sweet flavor, more like a German bock.

Tap at Ei8ht Ball. Smoky burnt resin aroma. Caramel, bocky yeast. Kind of odd, not really nailing the style. Has that eastern European caramel thing going on. Unique, but not exactly a World Class product.

Draft @ Moeder Lambic.

Appearance: Black color with a small tan head. Some lacing.
Aroma: Fruity and dark malty.
Palate: Medium plus body. A bit sweet and a mild bitterness. Soft carbonation. Oily texture.
Taste: Balanced fine berry fruity sweetness on a solid dark malt background. A hoppy tail showed up after a while. I had not been drinking anything else. So some hops definitely showed up.
Overall impression: Doppelbock is a beer style I normally avoid. This was a nice example of the opposite. Lovely beer.
Personal stats: On tap at Crowbar & Bryggeri in Oslo, Norway.

On tap, Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Damn, had no idea this was a doppelbock when I’d ordered it at first. Poured a veery dark red body. Full aroma, raisins and dust, heavy maltiness. Sweet malty taste, creamy, yup, raisins, with some very very light soy sauce. Respectable but grew boring quite fast unfortunately. Oh well, can’t love ’em all.

Draft at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a jet black colour with a thin, broken tan head . The aroma is smoky with fruity notes. The flavour is rich, medium bitter and medium sweet, with lots of liquorice and red berry fruit on the palate. A really superb Dobbelbock and quite possibly the the best I’ve ever tasted.

Draught at REAL A Gastropub, Honolulu, HI
Dark brown color, nearly black, with compact head. Strong notes of oxidisation, caramel aroma. Caramel flavor, with dark caramel, and strong oxidisation note; correct bitterness.
It reminds me of some 25 years old Belgian bottle. Strange idea.

Henrik, Bergen tap: Pours a dark brown with a quickly descending head. Aroma is wicked malty, somewhat roasted, and slightly hoppy. Taste is moderately sweet, but also quite complex. Nice malty finish. Pretty mellow for a doppelbock. Alcohol is well-covered. This was good, but not the greatest doppelbock ever.
