Darker rubybrown body with a little foam, smells of big sweet coffee with molasses. Flavour is sweet coffee with soft caramel hints on the back end. Medium finish. Flavourful at least, though heavy and simple.

Poured from 473mL can. Black with light tan head. Lots of roast coffee, very mild chocolate and feint hint of vanilla. Slightly chalky texture, not overbearing though. Not bad, needs some minor work though.

Big coffee/heavy roast nose.Pungent coffee palate, medium roast bitterness.Seriously lacks carbonation like most beers with coffee. Must drink cold

Dark brown. Thin head. Lots of coffee, soft and sweet. Similar on the palate though there is some assertive roast. Bit harsh but otherwise a decent brew.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark color, almost black, with beige head. The aroma is maybe a bit yeasty, but it has a good roasted malt character, good coffee, and probably a good resiny hopping too.
Aggressive, interesting. And I would be interested to try an imperialized version of this.

On tap. Pours black with moderate creamy tan head. Aromas of dry coffe beans and roasted malts. Flavors of rich freshly ground coffee, bitter dark chocolate, and smooth roasted malts. Really nice for a coffee stout - rich without being acidic. Right on.

On tap at Trading Post, pours black with a small light brown head. Aroma brings outs lots of roasted malt that dominates, with some coffee in there as well. Flavour is quite robust and somewhat astringent, with loads of roasted malt and coffee. The roast is rather harsh and again, leaves an astringency on the finish. Despite the harshness, it drinks pretty well. Could use some tweaking. Decent.

Draft - Big and robust espresso bean. Jet black with a decent beige head. Lotos of espresso, dark chocolate and tons of balancing bitterness. Big, bold but nice.
