Imagine an English porter. Now imagine a Belgian brewer reimagining an English porter. Now imagine a couple of Canadian brewers imagining how a Belgian brewer would reimagine an English porter.
Combining the light roast and rich malt of an English porter with the fruity, spicy mystery of a Belgian fermentation, Londen is your new favourite beer this winter.

The aroma is soft sharp barley and dry chocolate notes, has good dark brown body with medium beige foam. Flavour is soft chunky chocolate, sweet coffee notes, and dark biscuit. Mouthfeel is full with a nice level of sweetness. This is good and tasty, like dessert in a glass.

Medium brown. Bubbly head. Earthy, dates, figs, molasses. Has a balanced character, with light brown malts, and a touch of fruitiness. Fairly light body for its size. Ok, well made, but not my style.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark brown color, small head, Mildly roasted malts in the aroma. Dry mouthfeel, and weaker than expected, at this strength; roasted malt flavor, and some yeast flavor in the final, lightly spicy.
Nice.

Bottle. Light dark fruits and some smoke in the aroma. The same in quite plain taste with bitterness from roasted malt. Simple, but not bad.

650mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malts with a very pronounced English quality and some dry cocoa. Flavour is along the same lines, with English malts, bready notes and even some nice hoppy content. Well-balanced and with a fairly robust body for a porter. Nice enough.

Draft - Cocoa nod chocolate with some cherry notes. Jet brown with a decent beige head. Chocolate and lots of dried fruity notes. Apparently very mellow compared to the bottle. Will try that as well.
