Tasting at Matt’s
Dark amber color to brown, small frothy head. Mild aroma of vanilla, oak, toffee. Some caramel flavor, a bit thin, lack of depth, with some vegetables notes.
Not the greatest base beer, not a necessary barrel aging; average.

Bottle. Hazy amber-brown, those whisky barrels come through pretty strong, and the malts are a bit clunky. So there’s some vague malts and some random barrel.

Bottle - Sweet starchy notes. Deep dark brown with a small beige head. Light grains and sweetness. Nothing to see hear.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark orangey brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malts, caramel and whiskey barrels upfront. Flavour is not overly barrel heavy, with notes of bready malts, caramel and a touch of whiskey. Not overly complex, but it's reasonably interesting. Solid stuff, just not terribly exciting.
