Bottle @ home. Clear brown color with a nice red glare coming through, medium sized beige to slightly brown head that leaves fair lacing. Smell malts, caramel, bread, nuts. Taste malts, caramel, lightly raisins, a bit sweet-bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Hmm somehow I find this one better than most dunkler bocks I’ve had.

330 mml Bottle. Tasted on 30/01/2014. The colour is nice and similar to chocolate. licorice, caramel, and chocolate on the taste. The carbonation is balanced and the aroma is intensive with licorice notes. Next one please!

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Deep dark brown/red color. Off white head, not much retention. Aroma’s: dark caramel, sweet malt, sweet and light roasted retronasal. Flavor is moderate sweet, roasted, light bitter. Body could have been a bit fuller. Roasted and moderate bitter finish. Much more a bock than their Lipreader and quite likeable.

Bottled. An amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of malt, bread, caramel, and hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, oranges, and citrusy hops, leading to a bitter finish.

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought online @ Biernavigatie.nl. Clear brown with a decent tan head. Roasted malts, caramel and dark fruits in the aroma. Taste has some bitterness and sweetness in a nice balance. A dunkler bock? No, a yeasty fruity stout. The best Butcher’s Tears beer I tasted so far.
