This is our highly hopped, high-altitude rendition of the classic India Pale Ale redefined as Independence Pass Ale. Like the high mountain pass, this copiously hopped brew is not to be trifled with. Our IPA marries generous amounts of Columbus, Cascade and Simcoe hops - the floral and citrous flavors are perfectly balanced by our secret malt recipe. Don’t pass this one up!

12 oz. can from Safeway. Pours an unclear, orange color, with a small, off-white head. The nose is juniper, lavender, rye, hay, and caramel. Not exactly dry, but with a harsh, astringent bitterness. This is an aggressive and simple IPA. Fair.

Some pine and decent malt. Light bitter finish. Orange pour with decent head. Bitter finish. Not bad like drunken sex. Tap.

Can at home in London - picked up at the Drinker’s Paradise. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy, white head. The aroma holds some white grape, tangerine, white bread. Medium sweet flavour with ripe, gooey citrus fruits, sugary pale bread, crackers, a little oily pine, a little floral spice. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with more chewy, sugary citrus, tangerine, melon, simple pale bread, mild piney bitterness. A bit basic overall, but not bad.

Can from the Craft Beer Advent Calendar
Golden color, clean. A bit too caramelly, but not too dark, with correct bitterness level, some hop resins, not much hop quality; midway between old and new style IPA, nice Ale, not as fresh, and not what expected from a Colorado brewery.

2015 craft beer advent. Pours cloudy orangey, with moderate-low carbonation. A nice mild hoppiness that isn't harsh on the palate. My kind of ipa. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12fl.oz. can from 2015 Craft Beer Advent Calendar. Pours a hazy, golden orange with an average, off-white head that laces nicely. Citrus aroma of grapefruit with caramel malt, biscuit, apricot and grass. Sweet flavour of grapefruit, pine, bread, grass and a hint of caramel with a dry, bitter, resin finish. Medium body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Nice.

12 oz. can, pours a hazy copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral and citrus hops, biscuity malt and bready notes. Flavour is so fruity, with juicy tropical fruity hops, some bready and biscuity malt, and a little citrus. Well-balanced, with a nice juicy finish. Good.

12 oz can purchased at Aspen Wine and Spirits in Aspen, Colorado. The pour is a hazed orange golden with a small, well formed light tan head. The aroma is citrus pineapple fruit, touch of pine, earth, and a toasted malt. The taste is a nice balance between the toasted malt as well as the bright fresh tropical citrus fruit, the pine and general hop bitterness. Bit of residual sweetness. The palate is medium bodied, soft natural carbonation, and a dry lightly bitter finish. Easy drinking, nice IPA.
