Poured from 473mL can. Dark brown with full beige head. Quite ashy roast with a mild underlying coconut character, touch of dark chocolate, not bad.

On tap at the North Vancouver craft beer week opening night. Has an aroma of soft coffee and jerky. Has fast disappearing head and a foggy dark brown body. Flavour is mellow burny barley and cigar ash, some coconut way back there after a few sips. Okay mouthfeel. This is kind of a burnt porter, but still drinkable.

Dark brown with a thin head. Aroma is mostly chocolate with a light nutty character. Sweet chocolate and coconut taste...fatty and rich...good balance with light bitterness. I like the chocolate character a lot and the coconut serves as a complement to that. Works for me, more than I would have expected.

On tap at the brewery. Ppurs an opaque dark brown with a small brown head. Aroma is quite weird roasted malt with the notes of... cold fried potato (?!). Taste is pretty the same with chocolate cake notes and still with some light notes of cold fried potato. Burnt malt aftertaste. Weird, but not bad stuff.

Draught at the brewery
Black color with compact tan head. Smooth and dry, with nice body strength, more dark chocolate than burnt malts, and an evident coconut footprint. A bit weak of emotions in the final.
Nice in its category.

On tap at Deep Cove, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out a good mix of coconut and cocoa nibs. Flavour is more heavy on the coconut, with tons of the stuff upfront, accentuated well with a bit of the cocoa. Just enough sweetness. Really enjoyable dessert porter.

Draft - Toasted coconut and chocolate, just like a Bounty. Jet black with a decent light brown head. Just as it smells, like the bar, I just wish the body was a bit bigger. Also a bit simplistic. Still one of the better beers they do.
