Frisbitter blond bier van hoge gisting. Licht moutig, goed doordrinkbaar met een lang uitvloeiende, bittere nasmaak. De Cascade hop geeft een subtiel citrus aroma.

Hay, hoppy, a bit flowery, yeasty nose, golden color, hazy, no bubbles, thin head, light sweetness, medium bitterness, light body, creamy feel, flat, long hoppy and bitter (earthy) finish with some sharpness, not completely balanced.

Draft at In De Wildeman. Pours heavy hazy golden brown with a thick off white head. Aroma of weak citrus and fruity hops with light malt. Flavour is light moderate sweet and bitter. Light to medium bodied with light carbonation.

33 cl bottle from De Bierkoning. From the fridge on this hot day. Golden blond color, slightly hazy. White head with a thin layer retention. Aroma’s: a bit weird sweet, perfumed, sweets. Retronasal it’s also rather sweet, a bit grainy, light buttery. Flavor is grain, malt, sweetish, with a mild hoppiness. Body is rather thin. Finishes rather dry with a light and eventually full on earthy bitterness a. I expected bit more.

Rerate: tap @ Burg Bieren, batch 2 without the homegrown hops. Clear yellow color, short frothy white head. Aroma is soft hoppy and soft spicy from the yeast. Flavor is medium bitter, but nicely balanced with the rest of the beer and not harsh or dry. This is probably much more how they intended it. So a deserved rerate. Original rate: Bottled. Clear yellow color, short frothy white head. Aroma is a bit spicy, hint of grapefruit, grassy, earthy. Spicy yeast note, almost ginger like. Taste is medium bitter, harsh, quite dry. Grassy, hay. The spicyness doesn’t really combine with the grass and hay in the aroma. And the bitterness seems too harsh and not carried by any body in the beer itself. And again the yeast characteristics don’t help either. For me, hops could be used more in the aroma and the bitterness should be less prominent (or backed up by some more body). 4-3-4-2-6: 2.1

On tap at In de Wildeman. Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of butter, sweet fruits, banana, light hoppy. Flavour is medium sweet, fruity esters, banana, light buttery, grassy and light citrussy bitter finish with a light tingle. Light-bodied. OK, but should have started with this beer instead of the very hoppy Oedipus Pale Ale.
