Eagle Harbor is our interpretation of a classic Northwest IPA. Recently the ’More is More!’ camp have moved this noble style ever in the direction of increased alcohol and bitterness, flashy new hop varieties, and a tendency towards one-upsmanship. We’ve taken a step back, thought about what makes a great every-day IPA, and returned to our beloved NW IPA’s roots. Hops include classic varieties, including Cascade, Nugget, Centennial, Apollo, and US Tettenang. Malts: ESB, Crystal 40, Special Aromatic, Wheat, Carahell, and Sour. Dryhopped and ran through several pounds of whole leaf Cascade in our hopback, Eagle Harbor presents a firm hop aroma, supported by enough malt character to keep you coming back for more.

Nice C hops on candied fruit in this orange hued brew. A straight forward, citrus IPA. Medium body. Lingering bitterness.

Draft pour pint at The Collective, Woodinville, as part of their brewers night. Clear golden copper pour with a patchy head. Malt forward aroma. Soft citrus hop flavor. Almost a green tea like flavor going on. Interesting hop bill. Refreshing, cool finish. Pretty good IPA.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours bright copper with an off-white head. Aroma is spicy/grassy over a caramel backbone. Nice, but not offensively intense. Med body or better. Flavor is "tea" forward. Tastes like tea - Earl Grey even? Which is sort of citrus. There’s a slight hop burn developing. It’s fruit and tea and bitter. Gets a bit citrus in the finish. This is not as expected, but it makes a strong statement!

Draft at the brewery. Brassy character, has a sweetish, berryish character, sweet malts, ok balance...sort of a basic IPA.

On tap at Bainbridge Island, pours a clear copper golden with a small white head. Aroma reveals notes of light fruity hops, some resin, some pine. Flavour is quite hoppy, with resinous, piney and woody hops, with just enough biscuity malt backing. Well-balanced and with a nice hoppy punch without the astringency. Solid IPA.

On tap @ Bainbridge Island, shared with jcnielsen. Pours a burnt orange appearance with an off white head. Grapefruity, slightly piney, sappy aroma. Moderate sweetness. Fairly high bitterness. Lots of citrus fruits. Pretty standard but easy drinking.
