An extremely pale golden ale, the Gladstone Belgian Single exudes fruity and highly spicy aromas. These flavours are apparent in the light, peppery body as well, though they remain understated to maximize the refreshing character of the Single. Complimentary pepper flavours from light hopping and a grainy texture from the malts create a very dry finish that almost vanishes from the tongue.

Poured from the tap. Clear gold with white head. Grain and very light Belgian yeast with mild floral hops. Dry and a bit boring.

Smells softly of floral hops with thin honey notes. Has a weak yellow body with just a bit of white foam. Flavour is sweet grains and what seems to be like honey again. Full enough mouthfeel, okay, unexciting.

On tap at Parallel 49, pours a hazy yellowish blonde with a small white head. Aroma is very dry, with a nice Belgian yeast character and bone dry biscuity malt. Flavour is very dry, with a nice Belgian yeast character, biscuity malt and crackers. Nice dry hop character as well. Bone dry on the palate, with a nice Belgian yeast character. Really good stuff.

On tap at Tangent Cafe, pours a hazy blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings Belgian yeast, some floral notes and dough. Flavour is quite clean, with Belgian yeast, dough and bready malt. Clean and balanced, though not especially exciting. Good for what it is.

2017-10-23, draught at Parallel 49, Vancouver, as Three Hops Belgian Single, 4.5% ABV, 6-3-7-3-13=32
Hazy blond color. Crisp dry beer, with wildflower honey character, mild Belgian yeast character with earthy and spicy notes, mild astringency in the final. Good.

2015-08-26, draught at Tangent Café, Vancouver, as Sterling Single, 5% ABV, 7-3-7-3-15=35
Hazy pale blond color with large frothy head. The aroma is spicy, a bit flowery, interesting. Dry mouthfeel with a nice Belgian yeast character, spicy, and correctly bitter, crossed by a flowery touch that seems sweet.
Very nice.

At the brewery. Cloudy light tan. Little head, light dusty yeast aroma with herbal hop, moderate bittersweet and a dash of peachy ester. Solid stuff.
