A bright, clear, golden Lager, the Gladstone Pilsner smells of crisp yeast and lightly spicy hops. Noticeably bitter, the combination of generous hopping and Pilsen malt results in an extremely refreshing brew. A light toasted finish creates a full body that remains dry and does not linger on the tongue.

Smells of very soft sweet grain. Has a light gold body with little head. Flavour is soft grain with some sweetness. Wet on the mouth. An unremarkable pilsner in every way.

Taster at St. Augustine with Alex, Josh, and Sunshine. Pours an almost clear blonde with a weak white head. Aroma is pilsener malt. Similar taste with biscuity notes. Good Pilsener, but I am not a fan of the style.

On tap at Tangent Cafe, pours a clear dull yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out light grassiness and a touch of straw. Flavour is clean, with restrained grassy hops and biscuity malt. Very restrained even for a pilsner, but it's clean. Not bad.

2018-05-31, draught at St. Augustine's, Vancouver, 5.5% ABV, 5-3-6-3-12=29
Hazy blond colour. Some smell of wet paper and puke; the malt flavour is a bit better, the hopping is timid but with light grassy touch.
Decent Pilsner.
2015-08-26, draught at Tangent CafΓ©, Vancouver, as Czech Pilsner, 6% ABV, 12oz, 6-3-5-2-12=28
Blond color, small head. The aroma is inviting, some cereally malts with a grass hint. But the mouthfeel is almost mellow, and the malt doesn't have the necessary crisp qualities, nor the hops are grassy enough; correct bitterness.
Not bad, correctly brewed, but a bit boring.
The flavor is virtually indistinguishable from many macro German Lagers.

Draft - Solid pils grain notes. Clear gold with a decent white head. Grains and a nice biscuit sweetness but I was hoping for that skunky bitterness.

Cloudy tan. Aroma is earthy continental hop, bit spicy, too. Full body, spicy hop and moderate bitterness. The yeast shows through a bit in the finish, so itβs got a " New World Zwickel" sort of character.
