Bomber. Dark amber-brown. Thin head. On the nose, it's got quite a bit of hop, lending piney and orangey notes, and then a slightly toffeeish, toasty malt note maybe with a hint of dates. On the palate, the rich bitterness stands out first, followed by chewy crystal malts, toffee, piney orange hop aromatics, and then it finishes with a bitter blast and a hit of alcohol. All told, it's a pretty solid strong ale, and it's hilarious that I've never had it before.

355ml bottle. Pours a hazy, red mahogany with a medium, creamy, long lasting, beige head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of caramel, roasted malt, bread and a mild pine note. Sweet flavour of roasted malt, caramel and nuts with a dry, bitter, hoppy finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

2015 advent calendar. Highly hopped for a "red". More like a slightly darker ipa. Lacking maltiness to balance the hops for a red. Still a good beer, but outside the style in my opinion. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Mahogany color. Very light fruity aroma, dark fruits, raisins. The flavor has a good malt and caramel depth, moderate sweetness, nut brittle, more toasty in the final, even some pithy bitterness.
Good.

Dark red mahogany color with creamy beige head. Mild aroma of roasted malts. Medium body strength, with just some residual sweetness; the flavor plays too much with dark caramel and roasted nuts, some malt in the background. The roastiness is hiding the qualities of this beer. Clean beer, anyway.

On tap at Bridge, pours a hazy amber with a small beige head. Aroma brings lots of caramel, toasted bread, toasted nuts, and just a touch of hops. Flavour is very malty, with big caramel notes, nuttiness, and toasted bready - just enough hops to back. This drinks like a wonderful winter warmer. Deep and fairly complex. Another great one from Bridge.

Bottle - Caramel malts and a touch of twig with a bunch of hops in the background. Deep amber with a rich beige head. Rich sweet caramel, touch of cooked orange and a nice bitterness to round out the sweetness. Lots of Barleywine like character. Nice.
