Draught @ Borefts 12. Clear orange-golden color, small off-white head that’s mostly diminishing. Light to moderately malty aroma, slightly sweetish, toast and something weird reminding me of paint. Taste lightly sweet, slightly paint, slightly smoked malts. Weird beer this one. Low body, soft carbonation.

Mahogany brown colour. Aroma is earthy and a bit smokey. Flavour is initially quite meaty and smokey then later some red fruit fructose. This aromatic sweet fruitiness lingers around the mouth long after the beer is swallowed. Strange but not unpleasant.

Draft from an urinal @ Borefts 2012. The gimmick / shock beer of Borefts, the but of many jokes and the sours of a lot of conversations - the beer almost everyone got to try one accompanied by the phrase try this and no name. It is brewed with castoreum, apparently something a beaver secretes together with his or her urine in order to mark his or her territory - located near the anus. Used in perfumes, as a food additive and apparently traditionally in Scandinavia in Schnapps. The last part sort of puts the whole in more perspective. I also got it under the mum of try this and I won’t tell what it is type of guise. Amber with not much beige head. Smell is bark, sweet caramel, sugar, vegetables and something musty. Taste of bark, sweet burned caramel, spices, forest, musty, spice aftertaste. Medium, easy body. Odd, not too bad and there are certainly worse beers out there.

On tap at Haandfestival 2012. Amber colour with a beige head. Aroma is malt, fruit and some strange that could be from an animal. Flavour is the same. Very strange beer.

On tap at HaandFestival 2012. A dense, finger-thick off-white head sits on top of a more or less clear, dark golden beer. Some lacings. The aroma has a distinct chicken farm touch, with some roasted malts and damp forest in the back. Very unusual, but nice in a strange way. The flavor has some underlying caramel sweetness, a touch of roasted malts, and some of the same chicken farm found in the aroma. Medium body, dry, and with a pleasant level of carbonation. Some roasted malts and bitterness in the end. A rather weird idea, this beer, but in very small amounts, it’s sort of nice. Although in a going-to-the-dentist way. 120504

Sample during tasting @ Ölrepubliken. Blind tasting! Pours tiny hazy brownish orange with a small offwhite head that leaves a small trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is slightly sweet with caramel, juniper berries, smoke, alcohol, lemon zest, rubber, asphalt, cereal and hints of compost. Taste is is tiny sweet, bitter and herbal with caramel, resinous wood, orange peal, lemon zest, sweet liquorice candy, smoke, pine, lemon balm, oregano, moist grass and moist soil. Mouthfeel is tiny round, slightly astringent and light to medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and slightly astringent with caramel, resinous wood, lemon zest, orange zest, black pepper and oregano. Being vegetarian I would never had tried this by myself but now it’s done and it wasn’t too bad.
