(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 03/14, at Gastropub Tuulensuu, 20140308) The beer poured reddish brown and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, fruitiness and berries. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, berries, cardboard, hops and bitterenss. Aftertaste was hoppy and bitter. The beer was definitely too old but still within the BBE dating.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit schöner Schaumkrone. Geruch nach Citrus, Blumen. Geschmack sehr malzig, fruchtig herb, leicht nach Kräutern.

Thanks bierkoning! Nut brown color, steady decent beige head. Crystal malt, nice tropical fruity hoppyness. Medium-bodied. Similar flavor: there is some backing sweetish maltyness then tropical fruityness and finish some hop bitterness. Very good.

Appearance: Cloudy brownish and subtle red color, with a creamy tan head. Ok lacing.
Aroma: Fruity, grapefruit hoppy and malty.
Palate: Medium body. A bit sweet, and a fine bitterness. Average to soft carbonation.
Taste: Dominating unusual berry fruity, grapefruit hoppy, toffee and a solid malty back.
Overall impression: A bit unusual fruity. Sad they have retired this one.
Personal stats: Bottle from a trade with Martinus

Bottle with mR_fr0g at his place on 12 October. Poured a clear dark amber colour with a halo of off white head. Malty aroma with red current and hay. Flavours of caramel, grassy hops and dates. Finishes with pine, dry grains and some toffee sweetness to balance.

Bottle shared at home. Bottle from the brewery. Red brown colour, with a fleeting off white head. Aroma is tea, hedgerow slighlty herbal. Nice caramel, crystal malt, balanced hop. Hop is mellow citrus and earthy. Medium body. Nice and tasty.

Bottle from Bierspeciaalcafe De Paas, Den Haag
Dark amber color with chestnut hue, medium sized head. Horrible smell, puked vegetable soup, dust. Correct body strength, with caramel flavor, an impression of puke, quite strong bitterness without hop qualities, apart from some resins.
Messy.

Decent IPA, but I expected more from Emelisse. The taste is too flat and doesn’t hold your attention.
