Bottle from the brewery. Hazy amber pour, big white head. Bitter coffee aroma with sharp green hops and crisp cereals. Body and carb are solid yet soft. Finish is bitter, and clean. Slight notes of coffee, cocoa and grass. The vanilla is nowhere to be found.

Bottle: Poured a deep brown color ale with a large brown foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of sweet Belgian malt with coffee notes is quite interesting. Taste is dominated by sweet Belgian malt with some coffee notes, some cocoa and light residual sugar notes. Body is about full with great carbonation. I can’t say the vanilla was very much present the overall mix was quite enjoyable.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark brown color. Strong coffee aroma. Smooth, moderately sweet, with strong coffee character, and probably spicy Belgian yeast, some alcohol warmth in the end. If there is vanilla, it’s not too evident.
I’m not interested in coffee beers, but it’s well made anyway.

Growler - Vanilla, coffee and some roast. Jet brown with a decent white head. Sweet, coffee and a long sweet finish. Not bad.

375mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a large beige head. Aroma brings out bitter coffee upfront, with bitter dry cocoa underneath. Flavour brings out lots of bitter dark coffee upfront, along with cola and bitter dry cocoa nibs. Strange beast here -- I wouldn't think this was a Belgian beer if not for the intense carbonation, which is quite aggressive and perhaps a little too much. Still, pretty good strong coffee beer.
