Black pour with a small beige head. intense aroma of bourbon barrel. Lots of booze soaked wood, with subtle vanilla and alot of oddly fruity malts. The roast and sweetness of the stout are long gone. The base beer wasn’t robust enough to stand up to this barrel. This is a barrel bomb.

Tasting at Matt’s
Black color, small head. Smooth mouthfeel, but the flavor has too much vegetables, stale water, some chocolate, milk cream, and a hint of sweet liquorice. Some cask feeling too. It was not the right beer to barrel age.
Messy beer.

Bottle - Nice roast, chocolate and bourbon with a graham cracker. Jet brown with a small beige head. Vegetal, boozy an some roast with some awful off notes. Smells positive but tastes poorly.

500mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma is quite woody and roasty, with a touch of the bourbon barrels. Flavour is quite well-balanced, with notes of medium roasted malt, light bourbon barrels and some butterscotch. Some vegetal notes as well on the end. Not very cohesive and there are certainly some flaws. Roasty, vegetal and buttery on the finish. Flawed and nothing special -- at least not a disaster.

A deep dark stout with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with light bourbon barrel notes, light licorice, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet chocolate malt with light raspberry, bourbon barrel notes, woody notes, licorice notes, very nice. Bottle at brewery.
