Medium chestnut, toasty, moderate bitterness and a thinnish body. Decent, a hoppy brown.

Draft - Grapefruit and slight pine hops. Deep brown with a nice light brown head. Toasted malts, some chocolate notes and a hoppy bitter finish. Interesting, but nice.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Cloudy amber color with creamy head. The aroma is nice, some spicy yeast, fruity, fresh: apricot. Good body strength, smooth mouthfeel; yes there is some malt flavor, but it doesn’t come through very well; too much yeast, spicy but dirty, with traces of butter, and the bitterness takes a chicory character.
Strange. Messy, harsh, but not undrinkable.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a dark mahogany / dark brown with a small tan head. Nose brings out toasted nuts above anything else. Flavour is earthy and nutty, with a medium hop content and toasted nuts. Decent balance, but a bit murky and muted. Passable.
