100% of the ingredients come from central Vancouver Island. VERY RARE! Who said hop heads couldn’t love lager.

After pouring a beer laced with a thick white head, you can prepare yourself for an intense rush of malt flavour and a bitter hoppy finish.

473 ml can. Pours amber with full head. Aromas of fruit jelly and bready malts. Flavors of same, though malts are slightly crisper than a typical ale and finish is somewhat bitter. Still seems more like a lightly hopped pale ale. OK.

Draft - Light grains. Clear gold with a decent white head. Grains and a long bitterness. Touches of light malty sweetness.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma is very light, with not much of anything. Flavour is much more apparent, with cereal malts, alcohol and a nice earthy hoppiness. I wouldn't guess this was an imperial pilsner, but this is a nice light strong ale of some sort.

Sweetish, with a touch of caramel. Dash of bitterness. Good character, mushroomy hop. Finishes with more of the sweetish malts, light hops, splash of alcohol. Decent balance. I have a soft spot for this type of beer, so it’s good to see it brewed once in a while, and effectively at that.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
14oz

Blond color, small head. The aroma is malty, not strong, a bit of cereals. Full bodied; the mouthfeel is round but also a bit oily; strong bitterness, there are not much hop qualities, instead it has some chicory bitterness that is disturbing in the final.
Nothing exciting or elegant.
