A rare style of brown ale, supercharged with citric West Coast hops like an IPA

650 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with huge head. Aromas of dusty chocolate, nuts, and wet roasted malts with a little pine and alcohol. Flavors of bitter chocolate, roasted malts and bitter nuts. Don’t really get the west coast hops. More grassy bitterness.

Draft - Roasty with some pine notes. Deep jet brown with a nice light brown head. Roasty and pine. Decent, but not a brown. This is a CDA.

Hazy medium brown. Has a nice, sweet toasty note, and lots of bitterness. With a nice citrusy, fruity character. Good body.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish rife and a medium beige head. Nose is quite hoppy as usual for this brewery, with toasted malt, woody hops, and nutty notes - seems like a black IPA. Flavour is robust, with loads of woody hops upfront along with roasted malt. Basically a black IPA. Harsh but in a nice way. Excellent.

Draught at Sportstown, Richmond
Dark brown color, creamy head. This brown ale is above the average, roasty character, but with a few other elements too, some dark bread and chocolate; and as expected by this brewery, a very strong hopping.
Very nice.
