Poured from the tap. Clear-ish, very dark amber with beige head. Caramel malt, burnt sugar, slightly sour note. Interesting... in a bad way.

Nice deep brown body with purplish notes, very good foam. On the nose is soft faint biscuit, really too faint. Flavour is mellow molasses hints, slight caramel. Full mouthfeel. Very simple but also quite drinkable.

Amber. Has a lot of toasty caramel character. Decent bitterness, bready. Unadventurous beer but at least it’s well-balanced.

355ml can. Pours a clear dark reddish amber with a medium, short lived, beige head that leaves spotty lacing. Mild aroma of caramel malt and bread. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, bread and a metallic note with a dry, mildly bitter, grassy hop finish. Light body with a watery texture and soft carbonation.

Draft - Caramel, burnt sugars and some slight soured malts and citrus. Cloudy Amber with a nice beige head. Bitter citrusy, light amber malts and lots of peel. Not a fan.

On tap. Pours a dark reddish amber light head. Aromas of dusty toasted malts, dough, and brunt sugar. Flavors of bready malts and copper with a hint of grassy hops. Bland.

On tap at Tap & Barrel Coal Harbour, pours a hazy dark amber orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bready malts and some dry caramel. Flavour is about the same, bringing out a good balance of dry bready malt and caramel. Nothing complex or overly enjoyable but certainly not as bad as the average rating suggests. Decent amber ale.
