We re certainly not perfect. Too often, we allow our modesty to get the best of us as we re simply not inclined towards senseless braggadocio. When youre good, youre good. And when you do something great, the least you can do is acknowledge it. Others benefit from knowing. In this case, we find that we are compelled to point out how amazing this beer is that we rightly call the Stone Sublimely Self Righteous Ale.
First brewed in 2007 as Stone 11th Anniversary Ale, this beer was an instant hit. With us. Other folks with great taste loved it too, but we were focused on how much we liked it, and we felt it was truly sublime. That euphoria didnt last long though, as it was soon replaced with the grim reality that when we sold out of it there wouldnt be any more. For Us. And that was simply unacceptable. So, we are now blessing ourselves, and you the enlightened, with this beer on a full time basis.. Thusly, you may now revel in your own self righteousness as you see fit with this glorious example of ours. You are genuinely welcome, as it is our pleasure.

355ml can on the train to Manchester to see Botch. Poured into a third pint glass. Pours a hazed dark black, with good tan head. Quite a menacing, rich aroma coming out the glass, felt sorry for those sat around me. Big piney rich Black IPA from the past here.. tastes like 2013 again. Liquoricey shades, roasted malt, big hop bite. Great stuff.

Can. Brewed since 2007 according to the label, so happy 15th birthday! :) Color: Very dark reddish brown, almost black. Thin light brown head. Aroma: Hoppy, some citrus fruit. Taste: Very hoppy, notes of citrus fruit, dark and roasted malt. Some coffee, bit fruity (like coffee beans). Moderate sweet and over moderate bitterness going to over medium at the finish. Very long lasting dry and bitter (grapefruit zest) and bit roasted finish. Superb Black IPA.

0,355 l can. Pours black with big, light tan frothy lasting head. Aroma is actually quite subdued. Some toasted malts, dark chocolate, slightly fruity hop notes. Flavor however packs a punch, toasted malts, dark chocolate, black coffee due to heavy bitterness and mild sweetness. Finish is long, flavors fade before final bitter kick. Starts sublime, but ends brash!

Black color and a nice tan head. Restrained nose, hoppy, red fruits, roasted malts. Nice hoppy-fruity Taste, followed by a dry-maltyness and an astrined hoppy finish.

Cans from Hop Shop Aberdeen and Lupe Pintos. Black body with a beige head that holds well. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of fig, brown bread, pine and blood orange. Flavour of rust, pine, marmalade and dark chocolate. Medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. A strong and rich BIPA.
