On tap at the Capitol Hill location. Pours copper. Toffee, biscuit, pine, fruity. Medium body. Pretty nice.

From City Brew Tours, canned August 31st 2023.
It pours a beautifully clear amber with a finger of foam, excellent lacing.
The smell is caramel malt, hints of chocolate, toasty, perhaps nutty, wee bit of suggested bitterness.
The taste is caramel and toasted malt, chocolate, minimal bitterness but anything but on the sweet side. A little grainy when I swish the beer in my mouth.
Good mouthfeel.
I feel that there might be too much going on; kind of like the label art.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper with frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is toasted malt, roast, pine, rye. Medium body, caramel, pine, rye, nuts, light resin finish, very good.

Sampled from the tap at Chuck’s Hop Shop. Pours a clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has notes of straw and earthy grains with light grass underlying. Flavor is full of earthy grains and musty straw with a touch of grass backing.

Draught at the brewery, 11/7/15.
Indeed a violet-tinged red with good clarity and a beige colored head atop that shows moderate retention.
Very hop forward nose allows some more lighthearted cherry and candied orange-like notes, but certainly delivers a stiff amount of pine and red grapefruit. No alcohol or flaws.
Dextrinous body with well-attenuated sugars, a light saltiness almost, a hint of roast and tons of hops. Red grapefruit, orange rind, lemon and moderate pine, definitely not for the faint of heart. Not my jam, but that’s ok.

Draft 12 oz pour at the brewery. Pours a reddish copper color with a fizzy head. Fresh hops aroma. Surprising hoppy flavor. Tastes like an imperial red, but it’s so light in ABV. Good beer overall. Love the hops. Tasty.

[3/1/15] Draught at Stoup Brewing in Seattle. Nice clear red-amber. Aroma of malt, a hoppy note, and a bit of vegetables. Sweetish flavor with malt, toast, a vegetal hint and a finish with bitterish hops. Medium-bodied.

Draft - Light hop and caramel malts. Clear caramel with a decent beige head. Twig up front and some caramel. Not so different then their ESB.

Sampler at the brewpub. Probably my favorite of the lineup, probably because it had a strong malt character outside of the hops (aside from the porter). Low bitter hops, C hops with some fruit hops. Thick malt character, not sugary.

On tap @ the brewery during 7/5/2014 Seattle beer tour. Pours a dark reddish orange appearance with a khaki head. Caramel, slightly burnt malty nose with dull, piney hops. Medium body. Medium sweetness. Pretty spicy, piney hops. Pretty clean but simple and kind of boring.
