Our award winning Vintage Ale celebrates the short time each year where brewers are graced with the opportunity to brew with freshly harvested hops. This beer is packed with local hops from Bighead Hops in Meaford, harvested only hours before the brew. A generous addition of wildflower honey from the Beaver Valley rounds out this beer.

Hazy amber pour, big off white head. Big biscuity aroma, stale crackers, wet cardboard and some light grassy hops. Soft mouth feel, soft carb. Papery finish, light hops, lots of pale papery malts. Pretty boring and uninspiring.

This ale poured a medium amber colour with a minimal soapy head. Minimal lacing. Scents include malt and a little bit of dough. Not much to the nose. First swig was a little thin with flavours of honey, tea and caramel. More complex in the flavour than the nose. Finish is malty with a little bitterness/hop flavour on the palate lingering.

2015 Vintage edition. Pours a clean golden colour with a light amber hue. The frothy head lasts quite long, warm coloured and gives nice creamy-foamy lacing. Taste of fruity malts with some sharp dry hops, alcohol and even some hints of vanilla. Aromas are also fruity with some orange notes. Not a bad strong ale with some decent grass and warming for winter.

Bottle from the LCBO. Cloudy deep orange amber with a small short lived white head that leaves sparse lace. Bready malt with honey and floral notes and a light citrus backing. Doesn’t really exhibit much in the way of fresh hops on the nose. Light bready support for a medium- citrus bitterness and a light honey sweetness in the finish. Medium slick mouth with slightly soft carbonation. Honey adds some interest but would like more focus on the fresh hops.

Draft - Pale malts with some estery notes and a biscuit. Clear gold with a decent beige head. Biscuity malts, light hops and some esters, which may actually be the honey.
