Malta's first low-carbohydrate award-winning lager beer, Cisk Excel retains both the original Cisk Lager taste and the same alcohol level but with 50% less carbs. Within a year of its launch, Cisk Excel was voted the best low-carb beer at the World Beer Awards in the UK. With a distinctive taste profile, Cisk Excel easily rivals the mother brand in popularity and has gained a loyal following from the new generation of beer drinkers.

Cisk Excel is not just for carb-dodgers. Like Cisk Lager Beer, it has become a favourite at Malta's local "kazini" due to its lightness and easy-drinking, refreshingly sharp flavour. Cisk Excel is particularly enjoyable when accompanying fresh fish, shellfish and poultry.

Sample from 500 ml. can. Clear, golden colour with small, white head. Aroma with cooked vegetables, rubber hose, fruits, grains and wet hay. Taste is light sweet. Light and watery body. Short, lightly bitter finish. My next beercation will without any doubt go to Malta.

Canned (thanks Mom & Dad). Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is floral, grass and mild toasted maltiness. Flavour is grainy, floral, some caramel and mild herbal notes. Quite bulky feel to it, but still in some strange way quite balanced.

Pint from tap in Valletta. Pale clear yellow with a white head. Lightly malty aroma with hints of fruits and citrus. Lightly to medium sweet with a slightly citric and lightly bitter finish. Some bitterness in the aftertaste too. Light and easy to drink and cleaner and better than the regular Cisk. (2012-09-23)
