5oz pour at brewery. Pours very dark brown with beige head. Aroma has roasted malts and a touch of ashy smoke. Flavour has roasted malts and a pretty subtle smoke profile. Good porter, but the smoke could be much stronger.

Nitro tap at the brewery. Very nice black liquid and strong big off white foam on top. Good strong smell of sweet coffee and roasted barley. Flavour is nice creamy barley with a heavy sweet coffee finish. Sweet mouthfeel. A very fine nitro stout, memorable.

Can, tasted on Green Point Campground. Pours a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is metallic, coffee, slightly smoky. Taste is slightly sour and hoppy bitter with roasted malt notes in the background.

Draft 10 oz pour at the Alibi Room. Pours a near black with a big bubble head. To be honest, I hadn’t heard of this brewery, but I’m on vacation and I miss my dog, and this beer reminded me of her, so I ordered it. Glad I did. Medium level smoked malt aroma. Light body for a porter. Has a smoked dark lager feel to me, but quite tasty either way. Perfect amount of smokiness to be honest. Much better than what I was expecting, for some reason. I had no reason to doubt. Good beer here.

Draft, Alibi & at the brewery. Dull light brown. Not much head. Mellow nose, taste is a little tart, touch of coffee, touch of smoke. Light example...next batch needs more smoke and more sugar. And no tartness. Poor example.

Draft - Roasted malts and chocolate with a light hint of smoke. Jet black with a small beige head. Lots of roast, burnt toast and a bittersweet finish. Not really enough smoke character. Nitro - At brewery more smoke notes but still not enough for my taste.
