Pretty sweet candy sugarish taste. If i re-rate this it might score a bit lower, but this is a beer i can’t really be bothered to drink again, unless i receive it as a gift. Decent scoring, but nothing special at all.

Brownish amber beer with a fluffy white head. Aroma malty and sweet. Other sweet tones like caramel and some vanilla. Flavour is sweet, bit sticky. Rather thin for its abv. Finish is sweet, slightly bitter with strong alcohol notes. (from 33cL bottle)

330ml bottle shared with Finn at Waagstuk in Antwerpen. Clear, dark-amber body. Beige layer at the top. Aroma of raisin and plums added by malty sweetness. Malt-fruity taste sustained by sweet berries. Yeasty fruitiness towards the ending keeps the strong alcohol at bay. A good one, well bodied (Antwerpen, 28.04.2011)

Bottle from Asao. Nice aroma of caramel, chocolate, raisins, prunes. Fruity, with cherry, also some solvent- like strength that is not unpleasant. Like a tangy bbq sauce or something. Medium to dark brown with lots of orange and lace. Fruity and strong, cherry, orange, caramel. Rather fresh and tangy, quite sour, actually. Slight alcohol burn works to balance. Raisins, caramel, vinegar too. Rather highly carbonated, full and prickly. Tastes young and stimulating. Probably really different with some age. Interesting. Not as commanding as a conventional abt, but flavorful and good

(Bottle, Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty nose with caramel, prunes, burnt sugar and a slightly sour touch. Malty taste with notes of caramel, dark bread, brown sugar, prunes and raisins. More than medium body, sweet, not much bitterness. Fairly smooth and rounded mouthfeel. It’s a potent beer, but surprisingly one dimensional and dull. Mainly sugar, caramel and alcohol. A touch more character would be nice.

Bottle from cquiroga - hazy purplish read - fairly musty and earthy in the nose, with a surprising amount of tartness in the nose at first, followed by raisin, date, fig, chocolate-covered cherries - quite earthy, tart, even a little salty at times - moderate acidity, a fairly mild sweetness considering the abv - a lot of dark, overripe fruits arrive late - fig, date, raisin - a bit of plum and caramel - finish of tart fruit skins and mild acidity - pretty dang good, actually.

Has a nice deep brown appearance and head, very sweet and syrupy but actually not overpowering. A good balance for a strong brew and worth a try or three.
