This beer surprised the hell out of me. I have to admit when i saw the granville island name, i expected the worst. What i got was a really nice, crisp hoppy amber ale. Really nice aromas of crisp cereals malts, and some really nice slight citrus and solid piney hops. The mouth feel was perfect, and the carb is bang on, the finsh was refreshing, and clean. Good hops, solid malts, an all around easy drinking, clean, amber ale.

6-pack from my local Metro store. Pours a deep amber colour with a frothy warm cap, great retention and creamy lacing. Nice aromas of nutty malts, fruits (raisins), floral hints and some decent sweetness. The taste is not as sweet, well-balanced with some grassy hops in the finish. Mild dry finish. Refreshing fruity and nutty malt. Quite a nice stronger amber ale that goes down well, but has good character.

Bouteille 341ml. Couleur cuivrée foncée translucide, mousse beige fuyante laissant un anneau sur les parois du verre. Arôme de malt grillé, un peu floral, touche de houblon. Goût de malt grillé, touche de noisette, légère amertume, café en arrière-goût. Carbonatation moyenne-faible, corps moyen. Plutôt surpris par cette bière, sans grands défauts et sans être exceptionnelle, elle est intéressante et goûteuse.

L’olfactif présente des accents floraux et herbacés avec une touche de pamplemousse. Les arômes se dégradent assez rapidement vers des notes de gazon brulé. Le liquide est roux / cuivré et clair. La mousse de densité moyenne est plutôt mince et disparait trop vite. L’attaque est très houblonnée avec les notes typiques du Cascade(pamplemousse et épices). L’amertume est forte et sèche en finale. Ses notes de poivre sont très marquées. Que du houblon. Je cherche le caramel et ne le trouve point; et je n’ose même pas penser aux petits fruits. Désolé, mais c’est loin d’une Amber Ale. J’appellerais ça plutôt une Red IPA

Clean filtered amber color with compact head. Aroma of fruity hops, with a earthy finish, sweat, and caramel. Soft mouthfeel; prominent caramel flavor, semi-sweet, with pleasant fruity touch; quite bitter, with some citrusy hop resins in the final.
Fresh sample, well hopped and clean; enjoyable.
