Pours with a deep copper, almost reddish-brown hue resembling teak, with an ivory-coloured foam that lingers nicely. The aromatics are all malt – caramel, toffee, roasted grains, darker breads like pumpernickel and rye, and a very slight note of smokiness. The flavours are roasted grain, nutty and toffee with that subtle smoky note. The mouth feel is dry and roasted with moderate bitterness and a well-balanced finish.

Malts: 2-Row Pale, Flaked Wheat, Crystal, Chocolate Malt, and Roast Barley.
Hops: Magnum, Cascade, Saaz.
Ingredients: Water, Malted Barley, Flaked Wheat, Hops, Yeast.

Quite a dark pour, small off white head. Nice nutty malty aroma. Reminds me alot the malt bill from alot of quebec microbreweries. A tad fruity, with some nice nutiness, and a decent amount of grainy malts, without being sweet. Flavor is quite nice, some light coffee more nuts, good malt bill, mind you very very little hops. The finish though....quite a bitter kick. Nothing mind blowing, but a realy flavorful well made ale. I could consider this a brown ale though.

Canned. Clear copper colour, mid sized head. Leafy toasty nose. Mid dry with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Toffee, toast and notes of dates. Floral, leafy hops. MId bitter finish. Uncomplicated and easy going.

Pours a cloudy red amber, should be more clear for the style. Low carbonation helps buoy the malt caramel body. Decent beer, slightly overhopped. Can from sobeys.

473ml bottle at Matt’s. Pours a clear amber with a tan head. Aroma and taste are corn with some smokey notes. Crap.

Tasting at Matt’s, can
Amber color, poor head. Grain aroma, not good. But this beer achieves phenomenal results with the flavor, grains bag, caramel, a bit sour, skunky.
Seriously bad.

Dark brown-red colour. Not much head. Nothing but thin grains on the aroma. The taste is sort of this innocuous bland vaguely malty nonsense. Even by the standards of generic red ale, this is a waste of time.

500mL can, pours a dark red with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out sweet cereal malts, bready notes and a touch of sweet caramel. Flavour is quite nasty, with sickly sweet medicinal notes, vegetal notes, and bready malt. This is really terrible. What the fuck were they thinking? Disgusting.

Can from Loblaws. Clear amber body with a thin off-white head. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of brown sugar and stewed tea. Flavour of metal, caramel and wood. Thin body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Nice balance and drinkability.

Draft - Caramel and light grains. Clear copper with a nice beige head. Malty light cocoa and a rich finish. Nice but a little odd for an amber.

On tap at the Ottawa beer fest. A clear light gold with a soapy head & a earthy malty aroma. Medium-light bodied with a sweet somewhat sugary taste plus some grassy/earthy notes. A boring lager.
