Cask at Egham Beer Fest. Aroma is grainy - rye - with a sour edge. Opaque dark amber. Frothy white head. Sweet sugariness with a bitter sour tinged rye edge. A hint of cocoa. Light bodied. Slick. Average carbonation. Dry finish. Not impressed. Lacks substance.

Cask at the Maidenhead Beer Festival 2015 [as Hedgedog Amber Ale.] A golden amber pour with a loose cream head; creamy, fruity aroma; soft caramel taste with a light herbal bitterness; and a smooth, dry, caramel finish. Very satisfying, and the probably the best Amber Ale I’ve tried so far.

Cask - Caramel and pale malts. Hazy orange gold with a thin white head. Sweet, fruity, caramel and a light clean finish. Normally too sweet for me, but with such a clean finish works.

Gravity dispense at EBF 18, 07/08/14. Hazed amber brown with a moderate off white swirl and edgeing. Nose is earthy, mineral notes, spice, mellow fruit, candyfloss. Taste comprises light minerals, bitter citric notes, bread dough, spice, earthy rinse. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, earthy hop bitterness in the close. Ok.
