Our flagship beer, Loose Cannon wins people over at first smell. The carefully cultivated interplay of Simcoe, Palisade, and Centennial creates a most fragrant IPA - its nose bursts with notes of grapefruit, herbs, and pine. Bitterness is somewhat subdued by the floral quality that pervades the taste. The color is burnished gold, and the mouthfeel is creamy. A strong malt backbone balances out the triple-hopped beer. Its nickname, Hop3, comes from the brewing process: our brewers hop Loose Cannon in the boil, the hopback, and the fermenter. It won a second place CAMRA award at the 2010 Great British Beer Festival.

Tap at J’s. Clearish gold with little to no head. Light tropical nose, caramel and malt. Clean and well-balanced, but slightly syrupy with a honey and caramel like mouthfeel. Low carbonation with a soft mouthfeel. A tad boozy on the finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Loose Cannon on 02 Nov 2016 at 20:31 - Score: 5. Original review text: Sweet and messy.

On tap at the hotel bar with dinner, pre-gaming before the BNA Party last week. Mostly clear light golden color with a decent bubbly white head. Earthy citrus and pine hop aroma and flavor with a solid bready light caramel maltiness to counter. Decent but old school feeling ipa.

Real nice fresh hop aroma with some malt in there to balance. While flavor is good, there’s a slight clash between the different components and that’s even more evident in the finish.

Cask at GBBF 2015. It pours clear golden-amber with a small white head. The nose is soft, juicy, oily, pine, peach, apricot, fruit and mild toffee. The taste is smooth, bitter-sweet, oily, resin, brown bread, apricot, cracked peppercorn and a touch of alcohol with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Works pretty well on cask. Smooth, juicy and easy-going.

Good hops aroma off the top. Pours golden with good lacing. Medium bitter finish. Lots of citrus and it’s well integrated. Some grassy notes. Tap at Rosslyn brewpub.
